Efficient and intelligent warehousing management has become a key component of lithium battery production. To further improve production efficiency, FAW Hongqi has decided to build a new intelligent warehousing system at its Changchun base to cope with growing production demand.
The production base plans to significantly increase lithium battery production capacity over the next few years, and has implemented intelligent warehouse upgrades to achieve this goal. To achieve this goal, FAW Hongqi has partnered with Shengyide Intelligent. Customized Intelligent Warehousing Solutions: Improving Efficiency and Ensuring Safety
To meet FAW Hongqi's Changchun base's needs for efficient management of lithium battery production, storage, and transportation, Shengyide Intelligent provided a comprehensive suite of intelligent warehousing equipment, including a finished product vertical warehouse system, conveyor system, air shower system, and AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) system. The entire project required comprehensive planning across multiple areas, including warehousing, packaging, long-distance transportation, and emergency response, to improve in-plant logistics efficiency and reduce production and management costs.

Vertical Warehousing System
The project's intelligent vertical warehouse system occupies over 3,000 square meters and has a clear height of 22 meters. Based on functional requirements, the warehouse is divided into four floors:
- Seven stacker cranes (SGRs) automatically store and retrieve finished products and empty pallets;
- Four automated guided vehicles (AGVs) automatically handle and transport goods within the warehouse;
- Air shower systems and pallet exchange systems ensure cleanliness and safety during product handling;
- WMS/WCS software management systems enable fully digitized and automated management.
Through the effective integration of these devices, the project not only automates the storage and retrieval of finished lithium batteries, but also significantly improves the accuracy and safety of the production process. Shengyide's solution not only improves warehouse management efficiency but also overcomes many technical challenges in the lithium battery industry.

Conveyor System
Floors 1-4
The project's intelligent vertical storage system occupies over 3,000 square meters with a clear height of 22 meters. Based on functional requirements, the warehouse is divided into four floors:
- The first floor is used for finished product outbound warehousing and incoming warehousing of finished batteries of other SKUs;
- Floors 2 and 4 are used for the inbound and outbound warehousing of finished batteries and the return of empty pallets. To ensure production continuity.
- The third floor is designed as a backup access and storage floor, primarily serving as an emergency access and storage channel in the event of any unforeseen failures on the second and fourth floors. This design effectively avoids production delays caused by localized issues, ensuring stable and efficient production capacity.

Furthermore, five stacker cranes provide primary storage, providing 2,700 storage spaces, while two additional stacker cranes serve as a backup storage system, ensuring continued storage even if the primary stacker cranes experience a mission alarm. This significantly increases storage capacity for finished products and raw materials, minimizing operational interruptions and delays.
Furthermore, the warehouse's fire protection design meets the high safety standards for new energy lithium battery storage:
- Each storage space is enclosed by five fire-resistant partitions.
- The floor features water collection and drainage to prevent any potential safety hazards.
This high-standard design ensures comprehensive protection against potential risks such as fire during lithium battery storage.
WCS/WMS Software System
Intelligent Management and Precise Scheduling
Shengyide Intelligent equipped this project with its independently developed WCS/WMS management software system, seamlessly integrated with its ERP and MES systems. This system supports real-time monitoring and scheduling of all logistics equipment within the warehouse, ensuring the precise storage and rapid delivery of materials and finished products. Through real-time data analysis, the system effectively optimizes production scheduling and logistics processes, significantly enhancing the intelligence of warehouse management.
Real-time monitoring and early warning mechanisms:

This project commenced on August 1, 2023, and was officially commissioned and successfully put into production by the end of December. As Shengyide Intelligent's final benchmark project in 2024, this smart warehouse not only improves production efficiency but also addresses challenges such as metal foreign matter protection and material expansion in lithium battery production.
